Tooling storage and overall organization is always a concern for any productive shop seeking to maximize their process efficiency. There are plenty of similar offerings on the market, but some of the main design concerns we were attempting to improve upon include the following:
1) Cost effectiveness:
Tooling storage can get expensive. We sought to keep the design as simple as possible while providing for a solution that was both attractive and extremely durable.
2) Storage density and accessibility:
Nobody wants to waste space, but nobody wants clutter either. A single shelf is designed to store (7) BT30 tools within a 16” width footprint and only 5” protrusion from the wall when mounted to an Omniwall Panel. The angled configuration means that you don’t have to space the shelves out excessively to provide longer tools with enough clearance to remove or replace them from the shelf. First order accessibility so tools remain easy to locate and clearance for tool tags. 3D printed hole liners snap into place and protect the taper of the toolholders.
Clear the clutter from your shop floors and mount your tools on the walls or on the side of a machine enclosure.
3) Modularity
Our tooling shelf is designed for compatibility with the popular Omniwall modular wall panels which can be purchased in a variety of sizes, colors, and are expandable to add as much wall coverage as desired. Within a single 16”x32” wall panel, you can comfortably store up to (35) tools if equipped with 5 of our shelves, which is a comfortable maximum from our experience. This allows you room to move the shelves around for clearance to longer / shorter tools as necessary. (You may be able to fit one or two more if you group short gauge length tools together. )
